Hot chocolate is the ultimate comfort drink, and hot chocolate bombs take it to the next level. These delightful treats are perfect for enjoying on a cold winter evening, snuggled up with a good book or your favorite movie.

Instructions:

1. Place a saucepan on medium heat and brush 1 inch of water, lay the glass bowl into the saucepan, ensuring that it is not in contact with the water. Into the glass bowl add the dark chocolate chips, melt slowly over a low heat until smooth and shiny. Alternatively, place the bowl in the microwave and heat for 30 seconds, stir and repeat until melted.

2. Scoop ½ tablespoon of melted dark chocolate and place into one cavity of the semi sphere dome chocolate mold. Use a brush to spread a thin layer of chocolate over the surface of the sphere.

3. Repeat step 2 for the remaining spheres to fill each with a thin layer of dark chocolate.

4. Place the chocolate mold into the refrigerator for 5 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.

5. Once set, remove the mold from the refrigerator and apply a second coat of chocolate to each dome. Pour ½ tablespoon of melted dark chocolate into each cavity and brush to cover the spheres evenly.

6. Place the mold back into the refrigerator for 10 minutes to set completely. Then delicately remove each chocolate sphere from the mold and place on a chopping board.

7. Flip four of the half spheres to face upwards creating a cup, fill each half sphere with 1 tablespoon of hot cocoa powder and ¼ cup of marshmallows.

8. Place a saucepan on medium heat and allow to warm for 1 minute. Lay an empty chocolate half sphere into the saucepan to lightly melt the edges. Then place the chocolate half sphere on top of a sphere filled with hot cocoa powder and marshmallows. The melted chocolate will fuse the two half spheres together, creating a smooth dome.

9. Repeat to seal all four hot chocolate bombs.

10. To serve, place the hot chocolate bomb into a mug and pour over the hot milk for the perfect mug of hot cocoa.

Note:

Rather than marshmallows try alternative fillings including Oreos, peanut butter or your favorite chocolates.
